For my sustained investigation, I decided to explore perspective through the layering of film and digital photos. I wanted to create images that could make the viewer question what was real. In my 'Seeing Double' series, I explored the different emotions of a set of twins. While making the photos in the darkroom, I was constantly changing the way the negatives were put together to make the final image perfectly seamless. In my 'Summer in Film' series, I wanted to create a dreamy landscape that resembled a memory. I had to combine many negatives together to find just the right landscape combination to really make these dreamy photos come together.
All film photos were taken with a Canon AE -1 film camera, and were shot on 400x film. Seeing Double was made in both a darkroom, and in Photoshop. Summer in Film was all made through Photoshop. All film photos are 8in x 10in.
In my 100 series, I was assigned to take 100 photos, but I decided to put my own twist on it. While In New York City for Christmas, I took some photos that would look cool edited, and decided to cut it up. The bottom photo is the original picture I took, and on top is that same photo cut up, re-arranged into a geometric shape, and glued onto the original. Each photo has 25-26 individual triangular pieces, making around 100 in all.
All digital photos were taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XSI. All digital photos are 8.5in x 11in.
